Rocky Mountain Power

Rocky Mountain Power requires that you pass the Electrical Training Alliance electrical aptitude test battery. As a courtesy, the Utah Electrical Training Alliance "UETA" (formerly known as Utah Electrical Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee) is offering this aptitude test for you. Rocky Mountain Power has stated that you must pass with a score of 5 or higher.

The cost for this Aptitude Test is $150.00 and must be paid when the Utah Electrical Training Alliance office schedules your Aptitdue Test date. Developed and Validated by the American Institutes for Research.

The aptitude test consists of two parts. 

Part 1

Reading comprehension, which is 36 questions with 51 minutes to complete the exam. To study for this portion of the test, it is recommended that you read information and have the ability to recall what you have read either by answering questions or having someone quiz your memory.

 

Part 2

Algebra and Functions, which is 33 questions with 46 minutes to complete the exam. 

To study for this portion on the test, it is recommended that you review Algebra 1 only, nothing higher. If you are concerned with your knowledge there are study materials on the internet or you may go to ElectricalPrep.com to attend a refresher course.

If you obtain a score less than 5 you may retest again in a period of 6 months. To retest you must reapply/resubmit your information to the Utah Electrical JATC.

The Utah Electrical Training Alliance (formerly known as UEJATC) requires that you pass the aptitude test with a score of 4 or higher. If you would like to apply for the Inside Wireman program you may come into the office at 3400 West 2100 South, Salt Lake City Utah, 84119. (for more information on the UETA program click HERE)

To sign up for the Aptitude Test you must make Application. To complete this process, follow these steps:

On the home screen down on the bottom right side of the screen under the "New Web Services" click the "Log In Here" tab and continue...

1-You must create a user. To do so click the create an account button. Enter your email and a password that you will remember. You will then receive a confirmation email. Click on the blue link to complete your account information. Click next to enter all your personal information then when completed click continue. The administration of the JATC with get back with you shortly. 

2- It takes 5-7 business days to be approved by the JATC. After being approved, you will receive a confirmation e-mail. You will then sign into your account.

3- Go to the Applications tab at the top of the page.

4- In the middle of the page is the "Program of Interest" that is where you will choose Rocky Mountain Power for your application. From this point forward, you are filling out the application for the opportunity to take the Aptitude Test for your Rocky Mountain Power Application process. THIS IS NOT THE RMP APPLICATION. 

You must pay the $150.00 Aptitude Test fee before your application will be submitted. You will not be scheduled for the test nor will you be tested without paying your fee first. The fee is NON-Refundable & NON-Transferable. You will be allowed one reschedule. 

The Aptitude Test is scheduled on a needed basis and you will be scheduled into the next available test according to your application date.
